INTERNATIONAL ISLAND CLASSIC

PHILLIP ISLAND

AUSTRALIA DAY LONG WEEKEND JANUARY 2017

It’s on again guys and our very own Tony Logan is again organising a container to ship bikes to Phillip Island for the Island Classic.  So if you are thinking of going contact Tony for details about the container.

PIT LANE GARAGES - THIS IS URGENT.

We are hoping the Phillip Island Management will again allocate pit lane garages to our club for our members to use during the Island Classic.

If you are thinking of going to the Classic and would like to pit in the clubs garages you must decide now.

I have spoken with the management at PI regarding the allocation of four pit lane garages to our club for the 2017 Island Classic.  Although we were allocated four garages for 2016 they want another formal request from the club with a list of riders and their bikes before they decide if we will get any garages.

The number of garages that may be allocated to us will depend on the number of members that committed to enter the event.

So guys I need to know now if you are going to the Island Classic and want to pit in the clubs garages.  I have only two weeks to finalise our list of riders and get it to Phillip Island.  If we don’t we won’t be allocated any garages and you will have to hope you are one of the lucky ones and get allocated a garage with your entry.

Garages, if allocated have to be paid for in advance, your clubs committee has agreed that the club will underwrite this outlay with the riders who use the garages reimbursing the club.  It is proposed that the cost will be divided between the riders.  Riders with more than one bike entered may be required to pay a little more.  Spare bikes if stored in the container would probably not attract any additional cost. This is yet to be decided.

This year 2016 the four garages for Thursday through to Sunday cost $1720. I do not know what the cost will be for 2017.

If you book a place in the pit garages there is a non-refundable deposit of $50 required.

Please let me know either by email whargrave@gmail.com or phone 9295 6142 or 0415 884 429.

I need to know before Wednesday 14 September.

Phillip Island Classic 2017 - UPDATE

Hello all - dates and crate sizes for The Island Classic 2017.  Its now only just over 3 months until the bike will be loaded and sent over to Victoria.   The club is 100% sending a container again.

To help those going - Maximum sizes for the bike crates are 2300 wide.  1260 high.  780 deep.
Please note these are external dimensions for your crate - not internal dimensions and no wriggle room on the size either!

Dates for loading of container will be Saturday 14 Jan to Tuesday 17 Jan 2017.
We are sending a couple of days earlier to have the container landed at the same time as the international teams.

We have missed this date the last two years which has created issues for some.

We require a firm commitment from people for both the Container and the Pits.
This will be in the form of $50 deposit for the pits and a $50 deposit for the container. - first in best dressed - places will be limited.

Any questions please ring Tony Logan on 0418 932 319.

HCMC WA Pre-Modern Class 2016.

The Pre Modern race class catered for by the HCMC is to encourage riders into Historic racing.

Pre Modern is not currently a Historic Class as defined by Motorcycling Australia.

Pre Modern bikes up to Dec 30 1995 can enter a HCMC race meeting and they will be fitted into one of the race classes.

The intent is that if/when a new category of Historic bike is created by MA, Period 7 for example, the new category bikes should get log booked and enter the appropriate Historic class.

Pre Modern bikes will continue to be combined with either Historic classes or Moderns at the discretion of the HCMC’s race program organisers and Race Officials.

Pre Modern bikes must be prepared for racing in accordance with the Road Race rules defined in MA’s Manual of Motorcycle Sport 2016.
